Privacy Policy

Smart Invoices ("the App"), also distributed as Bills, is an Android application that lets you capture, extract, organize, and back up invoice data on your own device. This policy explains what information the App handles and when data leaves your device.

Data collected

The App does not create user accounts and does not collect personal data for advertising or analytics. Most app data is stored locally on your device and is under your control.

Data stored on your device

The App stores invoice records, groups, tags, settings, and captured invoice images in the App's private storage on your device. Invoice data is saved in a local SQLite database. Photos taken in the App are stored locally and are only used for invoice review, export, or optional AI extraction.

How your data is used

Your data is used to create and manage invoices, generate PDF exports, organize invoices into groups, and perform optional OCR and AI-assisted extraction. Core features work offline.

When data leaves your device

Data leaves your device only in the following cases:

• Optional AI extraction: when you choose to use an AI provider, the App sends either OCR text or an invoice image directly to the provider you configured. This happens over HTTPS and only after your action.
• Optional Google Drive backup: when you back up your data to Google Drive, the App uploads an encrypted backup file to your private Google Drive app-data folder.

Third-party services

Permissions

• Camera - used to capture invoice photos.
• Photos / media access - used to import invoice images from your device.
• Internet - used only for the optional AI provider and Google Drive backup features.
• Network state - used to check whether backup and sync actions can run.

Data sharing

The App does not sell your data. It does not include advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs. The App only transmits data to the external services you explicitly choose to use.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete invoices, remove backup files from Google Drive, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes local app data from your device.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If the privacy practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date will be changed accordingly.
