ChatRead ("the App") is an Android application developed by Niko Digital that lets you read and search WhatsApp chat exports stored on your own device. This policy explains what information the App handles and how.
The App collects no personal data. It does not create accounts, does not require sign-in, and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information.
When you import a WhatsApp export (.zip or .txt file), the App reads that file on your device and stores the parsed messages in a local database inside the App's private storage. This data never leaves your device. The App has no network functionality and makes no internet connections.
No data is shared with third parties. The App contains no analytics libraries, no advertising SDKs, and no crash-reporting services.
Messages parsed from your exports are stored in a local SQLite database accessible only to the App. You can delete all stored data at any time by clearing the App's data in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the App.
The App is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
If the privacy practices change, the updated policy will be published at this URL and the effective date above will be updated.
